Being on the registry is all I know

I’ve been registering for 21 years now and I’m not even 40 yet, I was A senior in high school when I met my wife/victim i was 17 when she became pregnant with our first child and 16 when our daughter was born 7 days after my 18th birthday the District Attorney’s office placed me on calendar 8 months later ended taking a plea deal for 3 years probation and i have to register as a sex offender for the rest of my life.
At the time the internet wasn’t as big as it is now everyone didn’t have internet access in their homes there was no laptops or smart phones so at the time I really didn’t care about being on the registry but after the Adam Walsh act was passed in 2006 that’s when everything changed, failure to register was a felony now and the internet and social media was the new way of life, and that’s when the witch hunt began.
After failure to register became a felony every law enforcement agency in America went crazy hunting down sex offenders all over the country from 2007 to 2017 a lot of people ended up doing hard time in prison for couch surfing because they couldn’t find a place to live.
For me its been a long road even though I’m still young I feel very old and defeated I only smile to make others around me feel comfortable but in the inside I’m slowly dying as life just passes me by.
Because I was so young when I was placed on the registry being labeled a scary monster is all I know, I’ve literally been on Megan’s law register my whole adult life.
Four years ago me and my ex-wife decided that it’s selfish of us to stay together and keep dragging our children through this nightmare, my life was over and if we stay together so was their’s, it was the hardest thing I ever had to do BUT it was the best thing I could’ve done for my children.
My youngest daughter is having birthday parties and sleep overs now.  My other two are doing good too I’m proud of them lucky I left at right time so they were able to live a normal life with out me.
My wife is doing much better too she was able to go back to school and become an dental assistant she’s also the team mom on my son’s soccer team she has friends now and volunteers in her community.
I’m still in my kids life but just from a distance to protect them from the registry.
Good luck
