The Work of the Collateral Consequences Resource Center

SPEAKERS: Margaret Love and David Schlussel; the Executive Director and Deputy Director respectively, of the Collateral Consequences Resource Center; Margaret spoke to the focus of their work at the CCRC and talked about the record setting year (2019) in terms of the laws that expand the rights of former inmates as they reintegrate to society. David then spoke about the CCRC 50-state chart on registration requirements; the recent legislation that increases the chance for registration relief; and the landmark cases in Michigan and Colorado that have found aspects SORA in those states to be unconstitutional. Margaret finished the presentation with a short discussion on the work of the American Law Institute’s Project on Sexual Assault.
