I have a question I’m hoping someone can answer for me. My boyfriend was 19 and the girl was 15. They was a 4 year and 2 month age gap. Could he qualify for the Romeo and juliet law in Florida. We would like to petion the court’s to remove his name from the registry. But not sure if the 2 month gap will hurt him. Has anyone gone through this?

My husband has been on the registry in the state of Fl. soon to be 25 years. He was charged with lewd & lascivious behavior. Five years ago we were hopeful he would receive his rights back. We obtained an attorney for $5000 which was a total waste. Why can we not get at least some of the laws changed determined by levels for a start and release from the registry for those who are determined to not be a threat to society. My husband did not receive a prison term, did his probation and has complied with twice a year registration along with other requirements. Being on the registry is a sentence in which those who have committed more heinous of acts have a chance for early release.
