Everyone deserves a Second Chance

My story stared when my daughter got sentenced to 5 yrs in a NC prison. Her crime was all in sexting a SC police officer. He threatens her to send photos of her soon to be 10 year old to the pervert cop in ‘SC. She was living with a very controlling narcissistic husband. She was looking to get out of her marriage. The cop and her texted, (never spoke on the phone or meet in person. He made threats to her she sent a photo of her daughter in a bubble bath and a photo of her daughter and her breast.

The SC cop was sentenced to 5 years Federal prison in SC. My daughter is serving her 5 year sentence in a NC prison. She is due to be released end of August. She lost her home and all her belongs. I have not been able to see or talk to my granddaughter in 6 years. Today I received a call from Florida Dept of parole, he explained to me that Florida has put on numerous restrictions on her parole of 10 years with an ankle monitor. She can’t drive alone. Has to go to a treatment program, and has a list of restrictions a mile long. Now she is applying for interstate compact. The worst part she can have NO contact we her daughter. ( Who is now 15. No Internet ext. I feel I’m living in prison in the outside world.

The people who got the life sentence was her Dad and I. She can’t get a job so we are living a life sentence. My daughter did her time and I feel that everyone deserves a second chance. She had no prior offense. Now she will come home and it will be like she is still in prison. She won’t be able to get a job. My husband and I pay the price for a sick cop in SC as we will have to support our 41 year old daughter for the rest of our lives. The laws need to be changed.
