My Daughter was Wrongfully Convicted!

My daughter, Jennifer, was wrongfully convicted of child abduction and causing to expose genitals. The Appellant’s Brief details how Smart was wrongfully convicted by counsel, the state, and the circuit court—each in part strategizing to convict her. That happened on June 11, 1999—26 years ago.

Jennifer did not discover what they had done until she began questioning the requirement to register as a lifetime sex offender in September of 2021. “State v. Jennifer R. Smart” is an RSS feed that goes to the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access. The case is now in appeals court, awaiting opinion of a 3-judge panel.

Here is a link where you can go to read all the court documents if you are interested in learning more about the case.
