Just Lost

I have been married to my husband for 6 years. Before we meet he was in prison for 7 years because a girl lied about her age and even though they did not have sex he touched her. We are a month away from being finished with his 8 years of probation. He has never been any trouble the whole time in prison and on probation. He has passed every polygraph he has taken 2 times a year for 8 years except this last one. He has to registry and have no issues. He is obtaining a college degree, we own our own gym for 18+, he has full custody of his young son and has rebuilt his life but this sticks over his head and he is ashamed. He didn’t have the money to get an attorney and trusted the court appointed one when they made a deal. I can not believe that anyone would be charged when someone lies about their age and told the DA that they did and on top of that one of the arresting police officers lied in his statement and has been charged with lying in other statements and went to jail but because of my husbands charge his was not thrown out. I would love to be able to find an attorney who could get his records and look at all the missteps taken and help him but I don’t know where to start. It is very sad that even though someone has paid for their mistakes and is on the right path still can not get a fair shake. I love my husband very much and just see the depression and shame in his eyes that he tells me to find someone better. It just breaks my heart!!! Praying for all families that have to deal with this.
